Fox Sedge

Fox Sedge is a widely distributed native Carex found across the entire US. Grows in low wet sunny areas where it forms clumps that spread by rhizomes into large colonies. An excellent choice for pond or creek edges, ditches, swales, and rain gardens. Works well to crowd out undesirable plants in hard-to-maintain wet areas, where its finely textured foliage forms a clean swath of grassy green. Named for its brown “foxtail” midsummer blooms.
